What is the PRDE and the ACRDS?
The Principles of Reciprocity & Data Exchange (PRDE) is a set of industry-developed data exchange rules that support Australia’s consumer credit reporting system. The PRDE facilitates sharing of credit reporting information between PRDE signatories, ensuring that all credit providers – large and small – can access the same consumer credit reporting information by setting up a reciprocal data exchange. Information shared under the PRDE follows the Australian Credit Reporting Data Standard (ACRDS), a set of technical requirements to ensure consistency and data quality. Credit Providers and Credit Reporting Bodies agree to use the ACRDS when they become signatories to the PRDE.
The PRDE was established by Arca in collaboration with the consumer credit industry, and Arca continues to support the management of the data exchange rules through its subsidiary the RDEA (Reciprocity and Data Exchange Administrator). The PRDE is currently due for reauthorisation by the ACCC in 2026 for a further 6 years, having previously been authorised in 2015 and 2020.
Did you know – Arca also provides a consumer education program, CreditSmart®, and PRDE signatories can use these resources to help their customers understand the role that comprehensive credit reporting plays. PRDE signatories may also choose to become a Member of Arca, which can help to support their move to comprehensive credit reporting.
As a signatory, a Credit Provider must contribute all its available credit information to its Credit Reporting Bodies subject to the approved exemptions.

How to become a PRDE signatory
To become a PRDE signatory, follow these three steps below:

→ Once you’ve received the pack, we’ll arrange a meeting to discuss the registration process and the PRDE
→ Once registered, we will issue confirmation of your PRDE signatory status
