Peter Wilson AM

Peter Wilson AM

Independent Director & Chairman

Peter Wilson joined the Arca Board on 1 July 2020. Peter is also the Independent Director and Chairman of Arca subsidiary the Reciprocity and Data Exchange Administrator. Peter is Chairman of the Power and Water Corporation, and Indigenous Essential Services in the Northern Territory. Peter was Director and Immediate Past President and Chairman of CPA Australia from 2017-2021. Peter was Chair of the Australian HR Institute from 2006-20, and non-executive director of Vision Super from 2012-2022. Peter was made a Life Member of each of the Australian HR Institute (2019) and CPA Australia (2022). He holds roles as Independent member and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at the Office of the Auditor-General in Western Australia, and the Audit & Risk Committee for the Portfolio of the Premier of Western Australia. He has also been appointed Chair of the National Drug and Alcohol Foundation from November 2021 Peter has held senior executive roles in the Commonwealth and Victorian Treasuries, and Group Executive roles at ANZ, Amcor Limited, and as CEO of Energy 21. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2005 for services to workplace relations and safety and community service and was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2004.

Has worked as Country Risk Director - Consumer, Citibank Australia ( 2010 – May 2022), Country Risk Director Consumer , Malaysia ( 2007-2010) and Retail Banking Risk Head, India – 2004-2007 - Portfolios including Personal Loans, Mortgages, Car loans, Commercial Real Estate, Business Banking, Margin and Securities Backed Finance Prior to Citi, worked in ANZ Grindlays Bank in India as Mortgages Product Head – 1995-2001. Also worked for Housing Development Finance Corporation, India as Branch Head, Mumbai Branch – 1986-1995 Has a Masters in Management Studies from University of Bombay, Mumbai, India and Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India

Fiona is the Head of Compliance and acting Head of Credit Risk at Great Southern Bank and is a compliance and legal regulatory specialist. With over 25 years’ experience in Australia and overseas in compliance, legal, risk and corporate governance roles, Fiona has held senior roles in a number of financial institutions including Bank of Queensland, Barclays Investment Bank and Macquarie Bank. Fiona has worked as a regulatory specialist in global law firms and at regulatory bodies and has experience in Comprehensive Credit Reporting and the regulatory aspects of credit decisioning.

Jason is a risk professional with over 29 years’ experience. Jason was the Chief Risk Officer ANZ Australia for twelve years. In this role Jason covered Op risk and compliance, commercial, retail lending, Loan Mortgage Insurance, Suncorp risk integration and Digital risk. Prior to that Jason was Head of Retail Risk for ANZ in New Zealand for three years, and before that performed a number of roles including Head of Retail Risk for GE Money over 10 years with responsibilities across markets including NZ, Australia, and Asia. Jason also has significant risk management experience in the telecommunications sector.

Joe is the Chief Risk Officer at Athena Home Loans. Joe has worked in the Financial service sector for 25 years holding a number of Senior Risk/Credit/Technology related Roles in both the domestic and offshore environments. Joe has deep experience in managing large operational teams with a key focus on driving technology and managing change to the benefit of the consumer and working with regulators and key stakeholders to achieve that aim. As the CRO for Athena Home Lending he is leveraging the power of data to allow efficient/effective operations and business decisioning in the Credit domain.

Kari is a forward thinking analytic professional with 15 + years’ experience in the field. She is a people focused leader who creates impact through being market led, evolving organisation capabilities and educating on the power of data and analytics to drive better decision making. As a leader of large teams she places high importance on rallying a team around a strong vision, creating a culture that encourages innovation with purpose and building strong relationships through trust and transparency. Kari’s career started in academia where she taught undergraduate statistics. It is here she honed her communication skills in making the complex seem easy. In the commercial setting Kari has held several roles from analytic solution development, analytic consulting through to senior management across a variety of sectors including financial services, utilities, insurance, airlines and retail. In each of her roles her approach has been agnostic and not from a particular specialism. Her focus is on identifying and understanding the market problem then helping her customers to better utilize data assets to drive value through analytics. In her current role as Chief Decision Intelligence Officer she leads a team of 75+ data and analytic professionals who provide insights that make a difference to Equifax clients across the region.

Mark joined Latitude Financial in 2018 and was appointed Executive General Manager Risk and Chief Risk Officer in May 2023, where he is responsible for ensuring that all risk types are effectively managed by Latitude and its people. Previously he was Executive General Manager Enterprise Services and COO, General Manager Group Risk and Chief of Staff to the CEO. Prior to Latitude, Mark had an extensive career in public policy where he was responsible for developing and executing major policy and reform initiatives as Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister of Australia and, before that, the Minister for Communications

Brad Davis

Brad is the General Manager of Market Risk, Credit Models & Insights at BOQ and is responsible for all risk analytics across the Group including credit risk decisioning and Comprehensive Credit Reporting. Brad joined BOQ in 2021 and has previously had a long career in consulting focussing on risk analytics for clients in Australia, Asia and Europe. Brad is passionate about using data and analytics to enhance business processes and improve customer outcomes.

Tom Clayton is the Head of Retail Credit Risk at Macquarie Bank, leading a team that manages credit strategy, analytics and policy for Macquarie’s Home Loan and Credit Card businesses. Tom has lived and worked in Australia for the last 15 years and prior to this worked for Barclays Bank in the UK and South Africa. Tom holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and a postgraduate degree in Systems Analysis and Design from City University of London.

Tristan Taylor

Tristan Taylor currently the position of General Manager, Technology Integration. Tristan’s career at Experian spans over 23 years, during which he has held a variety of technical, operational, data and leadership roles. Having previously been the executive in charge of Experian's consumer credit bureau, currently Tristan leads key technology integration programs including the consolidation of illion and Experian credit bureau technology. Tristan has held leadership roles across the UK and Australia. Prior to joining the Credit Services business, he has led advisory, product and delivery functions to deploy Data Management and Data Governance initiatives in organisations spanning Government, Financial Services, Utilities, Telcos and Retail.

Elsa Markula

CEO

Appointed to the role of CEO in August 2022, Elsa was previously the Executive Director, Regulatory, where she led a number of policy initiatives and was responsible for providing advice on a range of issues related to credit reporting and credit management.
Having worked at Arca for almost 10 years, Elsa has played a pivotal role in the initial drafting and ongoing variations to the Credit Reporting Code, the development of an industry code for data exchange and the review and operation of the Australian Credit Reporting Data Standard (ACRDS).
Previously, Elsa worked at the Financial Ombudsman Service and, prior to that, worked in private practice as a legal practitioner focusing on general and civil litigation.

Wendy Barker

General Manager – Data & Advisory
Wendy’s responsibilities include establishing and promoting best practice credit reporting and credit management. Wendy is a Risk Management professional with more than 20 years of experience working in the financial services and telecommunication sectors across different products and global markets.

Michael Blyth

General Manager – Policy & Advocacy / RDEA CEO
Michael has more than 25 years' experience in financial services, including as a senior manager is ASIC’s Deposit-takers, Credit and Insurers team. Starting his career at Consumer Credit Legal Service (Vic), Michael has also held senior legal and compliance roles at NAB, GE Money and ME Bank. Michael leads Arca’s work in relation to the provision of financial hardship assistance, responsible lending and the Consumer Data Right. In addition, Michael is the CEO of Arca’s subsidiary, the RDEA which administers the industry code of conduct for the exchange of credit reporting information (known as the Principles of Reciprocity and Data Exchange).

Becky Fishburn

General Manager – PRDE & Industry Policy
Becky is responsible for managing the Principles of Reciprocity and Data Exchange. With more than 20 years’ experience of Retail Risk Management in Financial Services in Australia and the UK, including a detailed knowledge on Comprehensive Credit Reporting and Risk Management Strategy.

Richard McMahon

General Manager – Government & Regulatory

Richard leads policy development initiatives for Arca, including changes to the Credit Reporting Code, and is responsible for Arca’s relationships with Government stakeholders.
Prior to joining Arca, Richard spent more than ten years at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, leading teams working on technical legal and policy issues relating to consumer credit and banking. He has also worked at Commonwealth Treasury on superannuation law reforms and at a boutique funds management company. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours).

Eliza Twaddell

General Manager – Policy & Stakeholder Engagement

Eliza sets the direction for Arca's interactions with external stakeholders including consumer advocates, regulators and industry associations. Eliza has a particular interest in ensuring the best outcomes for customers, especially those experiencing vulnerability. Eliza is a policy and stakeholder engagement professional with almost 2 decades of experience in both the public and private sectors across a range of policy areas including banking and financial services, energy, and public housing. Eliza is a Chartered Accountant.

Tersia Van Rooyen

General Manager – Integrated Marketing
Tersia leads Arca’s consumer initiative, CreditSmart, where she drives the strategy to inform and support consumers, Members, and stakeholders on credit reporting, financial hardship, and credit health. Tersia is an experienced executive with more than 20 years in the credit sector, leading marketing, brand, stakeholder engagement, and high-performing teams. She has shaped credit products and consumer websites with a strong focus on customer experience and retention.

Tim Brook

Legal & Policy Manager

Tim is responsible for leading and supporting Arca's legal and policy initiatives. Providing expert legal and policy advice, ensuring alignment with Member interests and organisation objectives.

Sophia Clune

Senior Manager, Credit Reporting Standards
Sophia manages the administration and maintenance of the Data Standards and PRDE. Sophia previously worked on implementing CCR in a bank and has over a decade of experience in credit risk and structured finance analytics, with a proven track record of developing reporting solutions for portfolios.

Amanda Hall

Business Support Officer
Amanda assists with the financial and data driven aspects of the business and provides support to all Arca team members. She is entrusted with developing financial records, conducting financial reconciliations, and providing administration support when required to the Arca team.

Natasha Lewis

Business Operations Project Manager & Executive Assistant
Tash oversees and manages the daily operational aspects of the business, such as operational projects, administration support and processes, financial administration activities and assists coordination of member engagement initiatives. Tash has 10+ years of experience spanning hospitality, sales, and financial services.

Ebonny Myers

Brand and Marketing Manager.
Ebonny is the principal custodian of the Arca, CreditSmart and PRDE brands. She is responsible for providing critical strategic advice and hands on marketing and communications support to the business. Ebonny has extensive experience working across all facets of marketing, communications, and branding within the financial services industry.

Cassie Nicole

Member Engagement Manager

As Arca’s Member Engagement Manager, Cassie develops and executes our engagement strategy, strengthening Member experience and enhancing the benefits of Arca Membership. Cassie is your first point of contact for any Arca Membership enquiries. With more than 20 years’ experience in finance, Cassie has a wealth of industry experience across engagement, lending, risk, leadership, community, partnerships, product, marketing and compliance.

Peter Stephenson

PRDE Compliance Manager
Peter is an accomplished finance professional with over 20 years of experience in lending, credit risk, and financial operations across both banking and non-bank financial institutions. His career has spanned across commercial and consumer lending, with a strong focus on credit decisioning and operational strategy, including being a Responsible Manager. With experience in the end-to-end credit functions for both a major bank and Fintech lender, Peter brings deep industry insights and experience to Arca. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting). As PRDE Compliance Manager, Peter is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the compliance processes under the PRDE and also engages with stakeholders to ensure awareness and understanding of compliance obligations.

Amanda Ward

Project Manager – Member Value
With over 10 years’ experience in managing corporate conferences, executive forums and stakeholder engagement programs, Amanda combines meticulous planning with deep industry insight to create memorable Member experiences. With a calm, strategic approach, she oversees all Member events from webinars and networking evenings to the Annual Arca Credit Summit. She also coordinates Arca’s presence at industry conferences, managing logistics and ensuring strong brand representation at external events.

Craig Woolley

Data Standards Consultant

Craig provides technical expertise to Arca and the RDEA in the management of the Australian Credit Reporting Data Standard (ACRDS), including its specification, and support for operation of the Data Standards Work Group (DSWG). Craig has a background in software development in the credit and other industry sectors, as well as in academia related to international issues and policy.
